We have all heard of the DIY SOS team on the BBC and watched and marvelled at their endeavours. So when the call came for ASRS Preservation Ltd to step up to the plate it came as a complete surprise!

This particular episode of DIY SOS: Big Build featured a family in Whiteley in desperate need of extra space to accommodate the needs of their disabled son.

To enable the rear extension to be built essential piling had to be put into place; four mini piles were driven in, then a Quickbase® floor slab was laid. Our instruction came from DIY SOS via Thor Helical.

We worked non-stop and achieved our goal in just three days, leaving time for the DIY SOS team to build the rest of the extension – despite the appalling weather and muddy conditions!

The challenging weather meant the project could easily have taken far longer than anticipated, but with the strict time constraints associated with the show, clearly failure was not an option.

The results speak for themselves and the additional space will be life changing for this family.
